These extraordinary, contemporary handwoven, hand-dyed cotton textiles are an innovative modification of 2 traditional well-known Malian tribal textile techniques: The mudcloth fabric dying technique and the colorful narrow band double heddle dragstone loom weaving of the Fulani people of Mali (also known as Peulh). Quite large, these are used as blankets in Africa but for Western use they are more useful as tabletop, a modified bedspread or a gorgeous wall tapestry. This textile measures 83 x 49″ (211 x 124 cm)
