Vintage Muong Textile Blanket from Vietnam | 65″ x 29″

From the mountains of Northern Vietnam, resides the Muong ethnicity. Their signature handwoven blanket, used by the people for warmth during the rainy season of Vietnam. Where temperatures can get well below freezing. With a stunning central woven panel of natural indigo, black, and gray dyes consisting of two bands roughly 12″ each. Many blankets in their full form will have a boarder around the central panel to increase its size. Sometimes the boarder may be removed before selling, or replaced with a newer boarder when the previous gets old. The approximate age is over 40 years, which is sometimes quite evident by patches of fading color or repairs of different colored threads. This blanket measures 65″ x 29″
