Vintage African Wood-Bowl Pipe

Pipe smoking of tobacco is a long-standing traditional activity in African villages across the Continent. Although many such pipes are common and ordinary in design the genre has given rise to a very well-developed form of African artistic expression. This pipe is not among the most exceptional but is very old and worn and has a very nicely detailed base on which the pipe stands when not in use. The mouthpiece is a harder, more dense wood. This is old and worn but remains in excellent condition. 5 3/4″ long x 1 3/4″ wide x 2 1/4″ bowl height (15 x 4 x 6 cm)
