This pendant is one of the region-specific pendant series – said to be a series of 21 – that the Tuareg people of Niger use. This one is from the In Gall region, characterized by metal encasing a piece of red glass, this one etched with Islamic designs. The necklace is of spherical black beads and each necklace incorporates 4 long cylindrical metal Tuareg beads. Total length of this beautiful necklace is 9″ (23 cm); the pendant adds another 3″ to it (8 cm), for a total necklace length of 12″ (30 cm).
