This hand-made wooden bowl is extraordinary in its design being adorned with a hand-woven basketry rim making it “half bowl/half basket”. The name given to these functional art objects in Rwanda by the Tutsi people who make and use them is “Imbehe” – pronounced Eem Bay Hay. This one features a natural light wood bowl with a wide natural basketry rim covered with a wide woven band of black beads with a zig zag design of white beads running all around it; the beaded part is visible outside and the basket rim is visible on the inside of the rim. 10″ in diameter x 4″ deep
