This is a large painting, measuring 47 7/8 x 23 3/4″ (122 x 60 cm). It was painted by a commercial artist in Accra who displayed it as an example of his skill in order to attract customers who would commission his services to make signs to advertise his business. It features the famous American artist Jay Z, a woman identified as “Jennaviv” and the first president of Ghana, still held in high esteem by Ghanaians, Kwame Nkrumah. There is an artist’s signature, illegible, under the name of the studio, Eddie’s Art in Koforidua, a city in Ghana.
