Pipe smoking of tobacco is a long-standing traditional activity in African villages across the Continent. Although many such pipes are common and ordinary in design the genre has given rise to a very well-developed form of African artistic expression. This pipe is among the most exceptional with a detailed bearded man wooden bowl, lined with aluminum. The mouthpiece is a harder, more dense wood. This is old and worn but remains in excellent condition. 5 3/8″ long x 1 1/2″ wide x 1 15/16″ bowl height (14 x 4 x 5 cm)
